Fun Times!!

With the boys birthday and Christmas occurring within days of each other, there has been a lot of fun times of celebrating with friends and family! In fact, in the 2's room at church last Sunday the teacher asked, "Whose birthday are we getting ready to celebrate?" And our boys threw their hands in the air exclaiming, "Ours!" It was kinda cute, and we explained to the teacher that their birthday was actually that week. My boys are getting used to the fact that they have to "share" their birthday week with Jesus.

On December 15th we had a boy birthday party with the theme "Cars", of course. It was a great time to get some of our closest friends together and spend time with them and have so many little ones running around playing. Here they are making a craft:

Here's Kylee showing off the final product:

On December 17th, we had a playdate with our Sunday school class and made gingerbread houses! The boys had a lot of fun, but especially loved coming home and eating them!

Here's Kaden's house. True of his personality, he just threw his together any which way!

And, also true to character, Colson took time to meticulously cover each section with frosting before delicately placing each piece of candy on the house.

Later that day we were so excited for the much anticipated arrival of my parents!! Our first activity with them, after eating of course, was to take a walk out in the neighborhood amidst freshly fallen snow. It was beautiful!!

My attempt at a somersault in the snow, per Kylee's request.

Papa and Kylee enjoying a hot cocoa after our walk in the snow.

I had signed up in Kylee's class to "teach" a cooking class, where we'd be decorating gingerbread boys and girls. The night before, while Kylee and Papa were outside in the snow, Nana and I practiced making and decorating cookies with the boys. They loved the opportunity!!

A bath certainly had to follow cookie decorating!!

On the day of the boys birthday, we spent all morning at the indoor soccer park. The boys were so excited and had a great time!! The best part was that Jim got home from a work trip that day and came to the park and surprised the boys! They couldn't wait to show their Daddy all the fun things there was to do on the huge soccer field! Colson is in red, and Kaden in yellow.

That evening, we had some neighbors over who enjoyed cake and ice cream with us and we let the boys open their birthday gifts. We spent the rest of the evening playing with new toys and they went to bed as very happy, very celebrated little boys!!

Our time with my parents here has been so much fun! We've had many of late nights talking about life, playing with the kids indoors and outdoors, and I volunteered them both to help in Kylee's class and in AWANA Cubbies at church. They've been such good sports and have jumped right in to all the activity. They also let Jim and I go out on dates on 2 different occasions! We feel so spoiled, but thoroughly enjoyed our alone time together!
